As a Blue Badge Guide I am a Member of the Institute of Tourist Guiding, the regulatory and standard setting body for professional tourist guides in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

I am also a Member and Life Fellow of the Guild of Registered Tourist Guides, the professional association of registered tourist guides in the UK. I was its Secretary General 2004-07. The Guild website explains the rigorous training undertaken to qualify for the Blue Badge.

As a member of these two bodies I subscribe to their demanding Codes of Professional Conduct.

From 1991 to 1998 I was an official guide for the London Docklands Development Corporation and its legacy website provides a wealth of information on the Corporation's work during its existence 1981-1998.
