Many visitors to London start their stay with an introductory panoramic tour of central London by coach. If you allow a half day for this, I will show you all the main sites: the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Trafalgar Square, St Paul’s Cathedral, the Tower of London and much more. If there is a Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace that day we may catch that too. Typically there will be three photostops.
A full-day tour is naturally more satisfying; it allows time for me to give you a guided tour of the Abbey, Cathedral or Tower.
We could also explore a particular district of London on foot. I have a repertoire of nearly one hundred guided walks to offer groups: Royal and Historic London, East and West Ends, Soho, Mayfair, Legal London, Chelsea, Kensington, Southwark, Greenwich, Hampstead, Richmond, Thamesside, Docklands and many others. I also guide walks with themes such as “in the footsteps” of Shakespeare, Chaucer, Dickens, Pepys, Dr Johnson and Defoe.
London is unusually rich in museums and art galleries and I am able to guide you in many of them: the British Museum, the National Gallery, the Victoria and Albert Museum, Tate Britain and the Wallace Collection, for example.
For reasons of audibility, space and safety, groups should be no larger than 25 for walks and 20 for gallery visits. I also run a series of occasional walks for individuals, described under “walks programme”.
